My Story
From a young age, I had a strong passion for humanitarian work. Before becoming a psychotherapist, I held a career working with CARE (a leading international NGO), which empowers women and girls in developing countries. The women & girls I met in Central America, Asia and Africa became some of my greatest teachers, as they embodied strength, wisdom and fierce grace. This career sparked my heart's passion to not "help", but support women in accessing their voice, wisdom and power, and to rise above systems of oppression.
My journey into embodied healing began in 2003 when I first discovered yoga & meditation while living in San Diego. These practices quickly became deeply healing and transformative and changed my life in profound ways. My desire to deepen my practice guided me to my first yoga teacher training in 2010, which eventually led me to the practice of Yin yoga. The subtlety and softness of Yin brought me deeper in touch with my energy body and emotional landscape. I began to experience a sense of awakening and liberation through the body that further inspired my personal and professional path, eventually to study Somatic (body-centered) Psychology. And it was clear that to teach yoga and work 1:1 with women and girls was part of my dharma (path of truth) in this life.
I was born and raised in a small town in Massachusetts. While my east coast roots run deep, California has been home since 2003. I currently reside in Marin county where the beauty of nature and focus on conscious living mirrors my true nature. I find the most joy and contentment in the quiet and stillness of the natural world, and having soulful connection with the beautiful people in my life.
